Abstract: Digital image (raster) of ownership data produced by Rockford Map Publishers, Inc.
Purpose: State-wide and/or regional planning, evaluation, and management.
Supplemental Information:
Images were created by Rockford Map Publishers, Inc., by scanning plat book pages at 300 dots per inch. Image formats were Tagged Image File (TIF) Format for black and white images, and Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPG) format for color images. Color images were converted from JPG to TIF for processing purposes. Images reflect plat book pages, which are based on survey town and range, political townships, or both. Township images were merged into county format. We have both township and county digital Rockford Plat images available. County images were cropped to remove extraneous data (text along map edges, township names, etc.), and rectified using section corners as control points in the Michigan Georef coordinate system. Files were merged into a county file from corresponding township files using AutoCAD Overlay software. A world file was generated to accompany the image file that contains coordinate values for spatial reference.
